Ministry Update :: September 7, 2007

Registration is happening. It is the start of the sixth year of the Canadian extension campus of the Word of Life Bible Institute! We are pleased to be having around 38ish students enroll today from Korea, Japan and different parts of Canada.

It has been a crazy week getting ready for this weekend with all the meetings, orientation sessions, meals, Bible sessions, plus some extra stuff we are doing this year. To complicate it further, a storm went through the area and knocked out our internet provider’s service for the whole region for a few days making last minute communications with incoming students difficult.

After opening weekend I have my last week in the office. I’ll be finishing up some projects and the training of those who will be taking on some of my tasks. The following week (Sept 17-21) I will be helping teach a Gospel seminar using GoodSeed materials to the BI students. I really like how God has worked it out that I finish these years of ministry at Word of Life by teaching Word of Life students using GoodSeed resources. A nice overlap of the two ministries that the Lord has laid on our hearts, and a nice way to start in our new direction.

  • Please pray for a good first weekend for the students and staff.
  • Please pray for a smooth final transition out of our Word of Life Ministry and into the new one with GoodSeed.

Remember to stop and smell the mushrooms..

..but don’t eat them.

Photography is many things, but one of the important things is just being observant. Looking for some hidden detail, the way light flows over the subject, a different view of the world.

On the weekend I went for a walk in the woods and discovered an old rotting log. Had I just kept hiking by I wouldn’t have noticed some of the details.. rich moss and clumps of little white mushrooms. Thankfully something caused me to pause and consider this corner of God’s creation. I hope you enjoy the set.
