Nunquam Non Paratus

The van

Hopefully our van has at least one last long trip left in it. It is now 10 years old with 314,000 KM.. that is already several trips back and forth across the country, but I need it to do one more.

We have had some extra work done on the ol' van lately to get it ready for the trip. Yesterday I had it in to a body shop to have the headlights fixed. The older Dodge Caravans were known for weak headlights, and this was made worse by the plastic lenses. Over time they had gotten cloudier than a summer day in England.. kinda like cataracts. So the body shop sanded them down and gave them a polish so they are a bit brighter now. That should help as we run the moose and deer obstacle course in northern Ontario.

We are planning to load the truck on Saturday, September 29th. The next day Naomi, Ellie, Adelaine, and Naomi's mother will be flying out to Calgary. On Monday, October 1, my father-in-law and I will be starting the 3300 KM trip from Owen Sound to Olds. Please pray with us that all of us and our stuff make it safely out there without incident.

I hope everything goes well on your trip. I'm praying for your whole family. I guess since your van has "car" eyes, you'll be able to sleep and let it drive itself. :) I'll look forward to hearing your updates as you settle in in AB!
