Campus Days is happening tonight at the Bible Institute. We are going to have about 14 people coming to visit and sit in on classes, chapels, games and other events. It is a time when young people are challenged to seriously consider studying God’s Word. Many of them apply to the BI and end up coming. Should be fun!

Post Christmas Era
Our students have returned from Christmas Break and a Missions Conference in the US where they were challenged to commit their lives to full time service to God. The three day conference features missionaries from a number of different mission agencies serving around the world. Our students get to hear their presentations and visit the displays to find more information. Former students have often commented that it is one of the highlights of the year that helped them realize God’s calling in their lives.
On a personal note, we had a great Christmas break in New Brunswick. Ellie got spoiled by getting lots of time with her grandmother and aunts and other relatives who wanted to see her. It is such a blessing to be able to spend some time with family and friends.
For those interested, I have added a number of new sections to my photography site.

Ministry Update – Christmas break
Fall Quarter is now over and the students have gone back to their homes. They have had a busy past few months keeping up the busy schedule of classes, ministry opportunities, and the fun that they are usually having with each other. They have already had opportunities to impact others and see a number of people become believers in Jesus Christ.
With the students gone for their Christmas break the campus has quieted, but not our house. Ellie is nine months old now and loves to talk to herself (and us occasionally). Naomi and I delight in listening to her explore new sounds and things that she is learning to do. She is now mobile and able to get into all the things she is not supposed to.
Upcoming events:
Dec 23-Jan 3 – Flying to New Brunswick for Christmas
Jan 6-9 – Students at the WOL Missions Conference in New York
Jan 20-22 – The first of seven Snow Camps that our students will be involved with (www.wol.ca/snowcamp)
On a recent survey of our students, we asked them why they came to the Bible Institute:
“I wanted to get a firm foundation in which to build my life on, not knowing that WOLBI would change my career choice. I now have a desire to only serve the Lord wherever I am, whether that be in missions or ministry.”
Thanks for helping us be a part of this ministry.

Ministry Update – Start of the new year!
On August 21 we said goodbye to many friends as we celebrated what the Lord has done in the lives of our third graduating class from our Canadian Word of Life Bible Institute. Those friends went from being students to alumni of our school and are now preparing to further their education (many at other Bible schools) and careers. Graduation Sunday was great time to reflect on this past year and how the students have grown.
Since then we have been focused on what is coming next! September 9-12 is our Registration Weekend for our 4th class at our Canadian Word of Life Bible Institute. Organizing this Bible conference and orientation time is primarily my responsibility, so I am eating and sleeping schedules as our plans are being finalized and the campus is a buzz as we get the dorms ready for our new students. We are looking forward to having students join us from many Canadian provinces and a number of international students. Pray for us over this busy weekend.
God bless.

Ministry Update – Ellie keeps growing
Whew! I’m not sure time has ever flown by so quickly! Ellie is now two months old and we are thoroughly enjoying each day with her. She is growing and changing so quickly.. Our students love spending time with her, some of them a bit awkwardly (when it’s their first time holding a baby). Ellie’s first weeks of life have been busy, filled with many visitors. Naomi’s parents, then my mom and most recently, two sisters have all made their pilgrimages to visit Ellie. Oh, yes, and maybe to visit us too!
There are a couple of hundred pictures of Ellie on our flickr site.
In other news.. I am hoping to launch the new web site for Word of Life Canada. I have spent the last 3-4 weeks working on the design and layout of the site with some graphics help from Naomi. Now I need your help. I am looking for feedback on the site before I replace our old site. If you can help, please take a moment to take a look at the site and sending me an email about what you think of it.
