Northern Lights

Northern Lights

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. Psalms 19:1,2

The gentle and quiet interplay of magnetic fields and solar radiation can create a beautiful display in our skies. On February 29, 2008 I finally had the opportunity to get out and photograph the Aurora Borealis. These photos were taken in Olds Alberta, Canada.

These pictures were taken on April 11th, 2001 just outside Sackville New Brunswick. They were captured on ISO 400 Kodak film (which was unfortunately all that I had at the time..) with my 28mm at f 2.8. Various length exposures were used. The scanner I used doesn't really do some of them any justice.
