Good News, Not So Good News

The good news: Naomi and I are very excited to announce that we are expecting our second child around December 25th! We look forward to meeting this new little person.

However, we wanted to share a prayer request with you. There have been some complications with the pregnancy. While we were on vacation in the Maritimes, we had to make some emergency runs to the hospital when Naomi started bleeding. Since then we have had several tests run to help determine what is going on. Naomi just got back from a Dr.’s appointment where she received more detail regarding her condition. She has had a placental abruption (basically a separation of the placenta from the inner wall, which has filled in with blood). This has placed her pregnancy into the high-risk category. The two main concerns are:

  • that the baby may not be able to develop properly because of a lack of nutrition, or
  • that she will lose the baby altogether.

This can also lead to other complications for Naomi’s health.

Naomi has been instructed to “do nothing”, and will be having another ultrasound next week and will be seeing an obstetrician (there is only one in Owen Sound, a town of 26,000 people).

Please pray for the health of Naomi and the baby. Please pray that Naomi will be patient and able to stick to the Dr.’s instructions. Please be in prayer for Troy as this obviously adds more to his plate.
