Andrew’s Visit

Naomi’s brother came down to visit on the spur of the moment a couple weeks ago. We had a busy, but good, time together. He and Ellie got better acquainted and we were able to visit with some relatives a few hours away.

The Friday Report

It was busy, but we had a good time with our Campus Days. All told, we had 12 prospective students show up, a few of which had already applied. We also picked up another 5 applications today! It is a great encouragement to see these young people get excited about coming and studying God’s Word with us here at Word of Life.

Friday night I attended a concert performed by a bunch of guys from our youth group. Their band, ReBirth, is a Christian rock band. It was loud. Very loud. They were pretty good! But loud What..? did you say something?

Ellie has taken to standing up under our computer desk and then playing with the mouse. You will be working on seomthing and then the mouse moves on it’s own or clicks on something..

Post Christmas Era

Our students have returned from Christmas Break and a Missions Conference in the US where they were challenged to commit their lives to full time service to God. The three day conference features missionaries from a number of different mission agencies serving around the world. Our students get to hear their presentations and visit the displays to find more information. Former students have often commented that it is one of the highlights of the year that helped them realize God’s calling in their lives.

On a personal note, we had a great Christmas break in New Brunswick. Ellie got spoiled by getting lots of time with her grandmother and aunts and other relatives who wanted to see her. It is such a blessing to be able to spend some time with family and friends.

For those interested, I have added a number of new sections to my photography site.

Ministry Update – Christmas break

Fall Quarter is now over and the students have gone back to their homes. They have had a busy past few months keeping up the busy schedule of classes, ministry opportunities, and the fun that they are usually having with each other. They have already had opportunities to impact others and see a number of people become believers in Jesus Christ.

With the students gone for their Christmas break the campus has quieted, but not our house. Ellie is nine months old now and loves to talk to herself (and us occasionally). Naomi and I delight in listening to her explore new sounds and things that she is learning to do. She is now mobile and able to get into all the things she is not supposed to.

Upcoming events:
Dec 23-Jan 3 – Flying to New Brunswick for Christmas
Jan 6-9 – Students at the WOL Missions Conference in New York
Jan 20-22 – The first of seven Snow Camps that our students will be involved with (www.wol.ca/snowcamp)

On a recent survey of our students, we asked them why they came to the Bible Institute:

“I wanted to get a firm foundation in which to build my life on, not knowing that WOLBI would change my career choice. I now have a desire to only serve the Lord wherever I am, whether that be in missions or ministry.”

Thanks for helping us be a part of this ministry.
