Springtime = water and mud = rubber boots = puddle jumping.

“DADDY HELP ME!” Adelaine dives face first in the soggy grass, but doesn’t want to put her hands down to push up as it is wet.

Adelaine dredges to puddle to ensure maximum splashing depth.

Good Friday

It may just be a bunch of dust being backlit by the stars of the host galaxy, but the impression it gives is a more substantial. Galaxy NGC 7049 is being dubbed the “Crown of Thorns” galaxy, for obvious reasons. A timely reminder of the sufferings of Jesus.

In other news, Ellie likes to wander around the house singing random things. It is always a joy as parents to hear her sing about one of her favorite subjects: Jesus.

Happy Easter.

Princess Kitty

We have a new kitty cat around the house. It arrived over the weekend and made itself right at home. You can see it walking around the house, meowing loudly asking for milk. Curiously, kitty talks about itself in the third person, such as “Kitty would like some milk to drink.” On Saturday, kitty became nobility when it put on a tutu. Kitty told us that she was now a princess kitty. Here is a picture of princess kitty wearing its kitty hat and princess tutu.

The Princess Kitty

I think the kitty is going to stick around for awhile.

Four

She is four
Happy fourth birthday Ellie.

Ellie reminds us almost daily and sometimes many times in a day that she is growing up. And she sure is!

It seems that Ellie has grown up a whole year in the last month. Almost overnight, she became fully potty-trained (after more than a year of working with her, she finally decided she wanted to do it!). Now, when she gets up in the morning, she takes care of her bathroom needs on her own, then heads back into her room to pick out her clothes for the day. Almost invariably, she is dressed in pink and she does a not-too-bad job of matching too! Then she comes out all proud of that days’ clothing pick and gets up to the table for breakfast. What a joy it is to have a child who can do so much for herself without constant supervision. But it is also bittersweet to see how, already, time is rushing by and our little girl is already growing up to be so big.
