Epic Road Trip – around the Maritimes

Update on our time around the Maritime Provinces!

Sunday July 23

Sunday started out with dizziness, so we couldn’t get out to church. But by afternoon I was feeling up to being on my feet. We all headed to Sackville to visit the Bill Johnstone Memorial Park, named after my father. Last time we were here it wasn’t completed, so this was our first chance to visit the newly renovated park. It was really special to finally be able to see the park and watch the grandchildren dad never met play there.

After that, seafood!

Monday July 25

Another visit to Sackville, this time to see my grandmother in the nursing home, and then my other two grandparents out by the Midgic International Airport.

The vertigo came again as we drove home, so I spent the whole evening laying down and missed a meal with the family. Doh!

August 6 – Visiting my home church, Main Street Baptist Church and some other locations in Sackville

August 7

A day for running errands, sending the kids for one last visit alone with family, and then to a mini family reunion in Wood Point

August 8

Last full day in the Maritimes, with a visit to another province. In the morning we went to Prince Edward Island (that makes it all provinces except Newfoundland visited this year!) and a last trip to the beach. In the evening, Ethan and Dad headed back to Moncton to watch a movie while Naomi and the girls were joined by aunts, grandmother and other family for a showing of Anne of Green Gables play at the Confederation Center for the Arts. The girl’s aunts wanted to treat them to the show.

Thanks for the tickets!
